Life is fleeting, as the finest smoke
use your imagination and energy in thankfulness
to enjoy where you have the influence
and less on what’s outside your own influence.
“Think of all the beauty still left around you, and be happy”
(Anne Frank)
Annelies Marie “Anne” Frank was an young german-born jewish girl from the city of Frankfurt, who wrote a diary while in hiding with her family and four friends in Amsterdam during the german occupation of the Netherlands in World War II
- these highlighted words are from that diary written by a clever girl.

Thanks a lot, really appreciates…
you’re welcome ^^
hi N.,
thankful? Anne Frank of course: for at least to have a diary;
better: you with communication, story telling on your little island:
https://ledrakenoir.wordpress.com/2012/11/22/special-photo-challenge-inspiration/
talked with my wife about your childhood – and she found similar experiences in her own childhood:
inspiring and a good focus on which we should be thankful for …
I think the main keys are our ears – we learn more with them than with our mouth – it gives more force or strength when we use our ears first and the mouth next – than if we use our mouth first and then our ears – it makes one much more pragmatic – I think that’s the right way, but that’s the way I was brought up too – it’s not about subservience at all – but about to have respect both friends and enemies – it gives inner strength to dare to be yourself…
to have friends
gives inner strength
to dare to be yourself…
Basically, I agree with you – but it depends on what kind of friendsship it is – some people call each other friends even one of them is the crew of the other – herd mentality is also called friendship – I hate herd mentality like the plague, there is only one thing is worse and it’s warm beer…
Wonderful…beautiful illustration. Bye

Thanks so much, your words honored me, really appreciate them…
I see a figure in the smoke, not Anne Frank, but perhaps the woman she aspired to be.
#.stephen g hipperson
Yes, Anne Frank was a girl with dreams…
- agree I see a figure in the smoke too…
She took the same class as me
#.paula
I’m slowly to day – “the same class as you”..?
Anne Frank “quoted me”
. Any clearer now?
I told you, that I was slow to day…
You should take some liquid
‘hahaha’ – but I’m still working, and I never drink while I’m work – besides I sit here all alone just now and I never drink alone…
Nothing wrong about drinking alone
I didn’t said that, only that I never drink alone…
This is absolutely beautiful.

Stunning illustration Ledrake, that quote is a real mantra, inspite of every hurdle thrown in our way there is so much to be happy about and thankful for ..
#.soma mukherjee
Thanks a lot, sweet words…
Agree we still have to believe that there’s so much to be thankful about even when we meet small and bigger hurdles on our way – we need to, never give up…
Anne Frank’s diary, I read it and it’s so beautiful and touching! It’s a true and wise quote… Great post for this week’s challenge!

¡Bellísima e inteligente frase la de Ana!, yo estuve en la casa en la que se ocultó cuando estuve en Amsterdam y fue impresionante, besos

Agree a very intelligent statement from Anne Frank – I think it’s really a great experience to visit the Anne Frank House, it gives a deep dimension of history – both her story and the story of that time world… ‘hugs’
