a so-called feeder ship passing through the Kiel Canal aka Nord-Ostsee-Kanal
a sea route through the northern German from the southern North Sea
a shortcut bypassing Denmark for the western Baltic Sea, which saves a lot of hours.
A channel of 98 km which can be compared to the channels in Panama and Suez
average saving of 280 nautical miles (519 km).
On the stage, in addition to road bridges, railway bridges and tunnels
there are14 small ferries which actually all are free to use, as far as known
humorous said so there’s almost no longer than one can jump over.
The operation of container vessels must be more complicated than it looks like… Great photos!
