The tell a letter story challenge by idea of “frizztext”
now the time has come to the letter “K”.
Keep in Touch
my mother’s class of 1948
their teacher, she hold her 100th birthday
a few months ago and is still on top in touch.
Keep Warm
The 2 brothers in law were (one is dead now) both warm people
but knew that it could be hard work to keep warm.
Keep Cool
Little sister knew that the 10 year elder brother’s toys were more fun.
Keep Calm
even if one’s “crazy” father, “Le Drake Noir”
trying to scare with some funny jokes eyes.
Keep the Change
from grass into milk.
Keep Alive
officers from NATO in springtime 1956
use the waiting time for social interaction
with “fled” hungarian officers
while waiting for orders to go to war or not
against the Red Army
somewhere in southeastern West Germany.
Keep Smile
the shortest distance
between people
is a smile
the easiest way is to turn our backs on each other.
…..
Who is the little boy in the last pic? Are you scaring off your own child? Which one is your mum in your first pic?
#.paula – 19092012.1218
It’s my son as he looks in the late 1980s – and just be calm, he isn’t easy to scare, even not me can do it… ‘big smile’
My mum is in the middle row, number 3 from the teacher and is 6 years old.at that time.. 😉

Was he in a bad mood?
No not at all – he just looking at his father cooking – he waiting for dinner and his always like to watch the old man cooking – even when he grow older – we always do a lot of talking while I was prepare food… 😉
But he has a suspicious look on his face ;)… does he like your cooking? 😀
I have learn him to be suspicious but with an open mind… 😉
I never met someone who didn’t like my cooking – and I love to cook… 😉

#.madhu – 13092012.1517

Such a wonderful way to celebrate a wonderful family and life Drake ! I’m interested about the NATO photo. What’s the story on that one? Were you one of them? Fabulous photos!

The story about or behind the photo is that in the spring 1956 the Red Arme invaded Hungary – no one knew if they stopped or continued into West Germany – therefore there were forces of several NATO countries ready to go against them – which would have meant war – my father was a young officer at the time (lieutenant) and he was with his men sent down there as the danish entry – it was close but the Red Army remained in Hungary – there were some non-communist hungarian soldiers who were involved at west side – it’s my father who shot the photo – they have a lot of waiting time… 😉
Hungary really did have a difficult time didn’t they? Such an amazing story Drake.
Yes, it was a tough time for many hungarians, many fled – to Denmark came many refugees too…
Ah…so the connection then to Denmark. Got it!
My knowledge to hungarian history was throw an officer former hungarian officer now – who my father started friendship with in those days in 1956 in southeast West Germany close to the hungarian- german borderline – this officer since became a british officer (he was british married) and couldn’t return to his homeland because of the USSR – but I know there were relative many hungarian who came to Denmark in 1956….
we all are glad that the “Iron Curtain” is fallen 1989 …

Indeed, we all enjoy that dark shadow was broken down – and fortunately it succeed even though there was powerful resistance from both english Margaret Thatcher and french François Mitterrand – both disagree much in one big Germany but couldn’t threaten the 3 passionate pioneering people George H Bush, Mikhael Gorbajtov and Helmut Kohl to stop the process… 😉
thank you for your KEEP xy list!
