A nice old viaduct in the north northwest Scotland
isn’t it a bit weird that there is more maintenance of the new bridges and viaducts
than those which were built many many years ago.
but sometimes then it may be a problem
that the vehicles nowadays has become wider than before.

Such a fabulous aquaduct/bridge. Do you think it’s Roman?
#.bella remy
Roman legionaries actually stayed parts of Scotland occupied for many years – the romans stopped before the whole of Scotland was occupied, and the army withdrew gradually returned – historians guess that the romans did not find the harsh and barren landscapes worth fighting for – and remained so for the more fruitful England – but so they can surely had influenced on buildings in Scotland… 🙂
And build a nice wall – Hadrian’s Wall.
Yes I forgot mentioning it, and the “Antonine Wall” too… 🙂
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hadrian's_Wall
🙂 – the Antonine Wall rarely gets a mention here.
In a way because of they aren’t built exactly the same way, one could had expected that they both got attention… 🙂
I think it’s because Hadrian’s is very near to the real border between England and Scotland, so it takes the focus of ‘demarcation’ between the two countries.
A good and reasonable explanation… 🙂
¡Es precioso!, bonita toma!!

Thanks, really appreciates – I love that kind of old buildings, they’re charming I think – and often they still works… 🙂
I’ve always been curious to learn “foreign” people to know – it is said that the stranger is a friend you have not met yet – business are also a good “excuse” to travel – I have my own “one man company” and most tasks are outside Denmark – so in periods I have lived in for example Norway, Germany, France. England and the Netherlands… 🙂

Thanks really appreciates… 🙂
Agree about bridges as symbolic of connections – we can never have too many bridge builders – also in a figurative sense we need them… 🙂
