A successful danish cornfield, or what is left.
This time of year in this northern latitude
can with a german word seem a bit “traurig”
in english “sorrowfully” or in danish “trist”.
Many trees are naked because the leaves have fallen
weather may be dark, wet and foggy
light comes first when snow falls or if the snow is fallen.
It is not unknown to see “winter depression” because of the darkness
often it is possible to do something about it, namely facial tanner
but the easiest is of course to consider the season as temporary.

The tell a letter-story challenge by idea of the good “frizztext“
now the time has come to the letter “T”.

hi N.
be glad not to live in Iceland or Grönland
greetings by
#.frizztext
I have been visiting Greenland (or Grønland on danish) a couple uf times and really loves it… 🙂
Iceland I been there many times both as private and in business, it’s a wonderful island at all seasons – two times I was there for a three week period – one time it was springtime (may), the second time it was winter (november) – the first time it was “light all day” and the second time it was “dark all day “- but both times was “The Blue Lagoon” between Reykjavik and Keflavik such a wonderful outstanding experience… 🙂
visiting Greenland (or Grønland) must be an unforgettable experience …
Visiting Greenland is a 5 letter word “GREAT” – and the people up there are wonderful people – hospitable and welcoming – as long as you treat them properly and decently… 🙂
Keep warm Drake. 🙂
#.strawberryindigo
‘hahaha’ – you’re right… 😉
I enjoyed really this time of the year and I almost can’t wait for trips further north to the norwegian mountains… 🙂
It is the time to take melancholic landscape photographs. 😉
#.stephen g hipperson
Indeed I agree – this time of the year maybe more time for thoughtfulness or maybe better call it reflection – because here high north the sun become a rare guest – it affects both many people and the landscape… 🙂
But it provides many opportunities from a photo point… 🙂
🙂
Fly to the tropics…! 🙂
#.george vagabon
Yeah, we send all these “traurig” people south for sun bathing.. ‘big smile’
all seasons ar temporary, you will survive 🙂
#.jan masyn
Yes all seasons are temporary that’s right and I haven’t any favorite season myself – but many danes have problems about this time of the year where’s getting darker and the daylight so short… 🙂
So many think it is a “traurig” time of the year… 🙂
Not much choice but to look on the bright side 😀
#.madhu
You are totally right, always looks at the bright side of life
– but not every one will listen.. ‘smile’
In this case would it be the tanning lamp? Just kidding 😀
#.madhu
I have a good friend his wife suffered greatly from winter depression – but after she got a facial sun to set on the kitchen table in front of her half a hour every vinterday – then it worked perfectly and made a happy girl – so I believe that a tanning lamp could be the solution for many of those who suffer from winter depression… 🙂
Maybe some people (in those areas where the sun shines all the time) who need a little “darkness” – but it’s easier to make … 🙂 😉
Winter and Darkness in a Poetic and Positive Perspective:
O Antiphons for Winter
Written by Joyce Rupp
O FROSTY SEASON
Come! Come etch your face onto our windowpane.
Light a candle in our hearts each morning.
Reveal to us the beauty of waiting in the darkness.
Keep vigil with us in this nurturing season.
O Come!
O SEASON OF THE SHELTERED SEED
Come! Come call us to be guardians of life.
Smile through the darkness of long nights.
Remind us that each seed needs a winter.
Invite us to trust what is shrouded in mystery.
O Come!
O SEASON OF THE LONG DARKNESS
Come! Come with your misty grey cloak.
Cast your dark rope over all that needs sleep.
Surround us with faith in the unknown.
Protect us from too much light.
O Come!
O WISE SEASON OF REFLECTION
Come! Come with your teachable moments.
Summon our spirituel powers.
Invoke our interior strength.
Heal our reluctance to wait for spring.
O Come!
O SEASON OF BRILLIANT SUNSETS
Come! Come to all that has grown dim in us.
Sing your winter chants to our reluctant hearts.
Cast beauty into our winter world.
Reveal to us our own gift of being light in the darkness.
O Come!
O WINTRY STORYBOOK SEASON
Come! Come lift memories out of the darkness.
Create new stories that have never been told.
Stir through the golden pages of our lives.
Recite poetry to us; tell us our names.
O Come!

Great one – thanks I didn’t remembering it – every season have its own strength – and weakness… 🙂 😉
Ugh..this is starting to look like winter. Same here too ! Well, my car is a VW Toureg..not quite the same, and it also makes me happy. 🙂
#.bella remy
My car is a Ford Mondeo
it’s doesn’t care about it’s summer or winter
it’s an all weather car… 😉
It looks empty except for the windbreak of trees, and yet interesting.
#,canoe
It’s a good term to use “empty”, I agree with you… 🙂
Yes, “traurig” is the perfect way to describe northern Europe – where I lived for several years – during this season… especially as the days get shorter and shorter. BUT, it’s always nice to see the flip side and the real sense of celebration everyone displays once the flowers start to bloom and the days grow longer in springtime.

Yes light – or the lack of light – has a major influence on everything – further north comes the snow quicker and with greater guarantee and this allows more light – further south there will be no snow or very little snow but much more sun and light – light is an important factor… 🙂
Very wonderful… “traurig” is the perfect way to describe northern Europe! Winter is poetic. Bye
#.orofiorentino
Thanks – yeah agree with you – winter is poetic… 🙂
We have the same word in Norwegian.
#.cardinal guzman
The western part of Denmark (where I’am from) use the word ‘traurig’ too… 🙂
I can imagine the winter depressions. 😉
#.elizabeth
Maybe it’s a nordic phenomenon – said with a twinkle in the eye – the unfortunate norsemen get sunstroke when they come into the south in the sun and get winter depression at home in the dark… 🙂
Pues esta estación a mi me gusta mucho, el aspecto de los campos tienen un aire misterioso, bonitas fotos, ¡envidio tu viaje a Groenlandia!!
#.manoli rizo
Greenland was really very exciting… 😉
I think autumn is a wonderful season, but can be windy and cold – the colors are beautiful and actully warm even it’s getting colder – and indeed weather for shooting photos… 🙂
