Deep in the Pyrenees

1187

Such mountain lakes can be very deep
but the view is deep breathtaking
to swim in them requires a deep breath before you jump
the deep blue color is not lying, it’s cold water
but the sweaty body gets a deep sense of well-being – afterwards.

There are units which aren’t measurable, where nature’s abilities don’t extend
“What is the highest Eiffel Tower or a thunderclap ..?”
“What is deepest the Pacific or real love ..?”
“What’s the longest a mother’s patience or the Trans-Siberian railway ..?”
We may never be able to say what exactly, can we ..?

If we sit on the top of a chimney and look down into it, so it can be deep very deep.
If we’re at the foot chimney and open ash door and look up, it can be high very high.

An old joke : the man must have a new flag for his flagpole
he asks his big son to measure the flagpole so he knows the flag size he should buy
the man comes out in the garden and watching his son has put the flagpole down
“What are you doing, son..?” he asks
“Meter the flagpole” corresponds the son
“It will not do, it’s the height and not the length I need ..!”

  1. I like very much this post! You gave a lot of hints to think about, maybe I’ll come back on them tomorrow… too tired now, sorry ;-). Interesting quotes, funny joke and beautiful picture! Well it’s all really excellent. Standing ovation for you! Good night Drake.

  2. I wish very much that my patience would be as long as the Transsiberian Railway, but I find it very trying to wait 7 days for my son to get dressed. 🙂 well, it’s always good to have potential to improve oneself, isn’t it? Very nice and philosophical post today.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate your words and agree with you – such things can’t be hold against each other – but nevertheless we human in fact often try to do that in way… 🙂

  3. Here I am.. Well, I agree with this statement: “There are units which aren’t measurable”, in fact even the ocean can be measured although so deep but you can’t do the same with real love or mother’s patience: both can be endless.
As your examples show very well, a thing can be deep or high or long, it depends on the point of view.
I agree also with this quotation: “Civilization is like a thin layer of ice upon a deep ocean of chaos and darkness”; in our age I believe this layer of ice is thinner and thinner, it may break very soon.. help! but sometimes “civilization” is just another word to say “slavery” and “chaos” can be “freedom” indeed…
ok,maybe I have dwelt too much on my comment… sorry, 😉 See you.

      Wonderful comment… 🙂

Yeah, there are things that can not be compared
even in fact we are (in a way) using the same units of measurement… 🙂

      Sometimes I think it’s scary
      – how little there is of the enamel we call civilization…

  4. Beautiful shot!, Le Drake!
As always, your points make intellectual sense. However in my senseless heart and mind, I believe true love (unreal and unscientific) is deeper, higher and longer than any one thing a mortal man can measure. Much love to you, darling Le Drake! -Resa xo
