Greenish harmony

Rasmus Lyberth, a greenlandic folk singer, songwriter and actor (taken few years ago).

Music mastered the magic to unite people
perhaps only surpassed by love
by the way love and music acts sometimes together.

Voices can snuggle in common with the music
sometimes we might almost believe that they have an erotic relationship
a harmony where it almost isn’t necessary to understand the language
word for word – to get carried away by the atmosphere
when music and language interpreted with heart at the right place.

I’m not very good at the greenlandic language – it isn’t good enough, I must admit
in the happy college days I had several greenlandic classmates
they introduced me to Rasmus Lyberth and his music – and they translated it too.

Music can build bridges, Rasmus Lyberth built and builds bridges
from the greenlandic culture to the outside world.

I see music as fluid architecture

  1. This sounds lovely, and fluid architecture too. This is the first time I heard anything in Greenlandic :D. Thank you, Drake. I hope your 2014 started well.

Greenland is amazing even if it’s a bit cold from time to time – the greenlandic people and nature are absolutly worth visiting – lots of stuff that fills great experiences in our backpacks when they are visited… 🙂

  2. This is a beautiful discovery for me, Drake – Rasmus Lyberth as well as Greenlandic music and language! Thank you! 🙂
Music definitely has very much power…to create and build…probably even more than human mind realises.

Really appreciate you enjoy it – lots of stuff that fills great experiences in our backpacks when they are visited – like evenings with song and music… 🙂

      Music connecting people… 🙂

  3. Great post Le Drake, I agree with everything you wrote and mainly with “Music can build bridges”. Well, I must say that the way to sing and the music of Rasmus Lyberth is not so far from italian folk and pop songs, sounds and rythm.. Despite the cold land he is from, his music is warm and full of sun! Really I was fascinated by this post Drake… what a magician that you are! 😉 Thank you a lot for sharing.

Thanks a lot – really appreciate your words so much… 🙂

Honestly no one can sing love serenades like the Italians – but I think this greenlandic singer is a worthy ambassador of the greenlanders… 🙂

Yeah isn’t it a wonderful language – really regret that I didn’t learn it right back in college time – with several greenlandic classmates so every possibility were ready at that time… 🙂
