For many so the first experience of the city of cities Paris is the train station Gare du Nord
maybe from St Pancras Station in London – about two and a half hour by express train
of which about half an hour under water in the the anglo-french tunnel tube.
By the number of travelers, at around 190 million per year
it is the busiest railway station in Europe
and the busiest in the world outside Japan.
My inspiration comes from “Restlessjo” and her “Jo’s Monday walk”
really don’t hope the friendly Jo will discover that it was actually a sunday walk.
Let the fingers do the walking.
This is despite its size a very charming traffic hub with a lot of life
with ample opportunity to fall into conversation with all sorts of people.
Also celebrities unless they think you are tabloid journalist
the station staff can often be ready with a jokey reply too.
