It is an old saying that “we must expect the unexpected” we hear it again and again.
maybe it is particularly important when we travel – because it is logical
that “foreigners” have other approaches than us who comes traveling
so travel with an open mind, which most do
we have no wish to have our backyard in the backpack.

Unexpectedly for me, it was the first time I stood at a small alsatian waterway
and suddenly saw a large barge filled with happy people on the tour
my first thought was “what about depth of water”
but the barges are flat bottom and the canals deeper than we probably think.

Experience – it’s getting a little bit more than expected, so the unexpected must be bonus.

With the inspiration from Ailsa and her absolutly worth visting blog
Where’s my backpack?
this is my version of the travel theme this week “Unexpected“.

  1. That’s really lovely, Le Drake! Even I would not be afraid of this boat.
It brings to my mind a humorous story by Stephan Leacock “The Sinking Of The Mariposa Belle” (1912) “LOL” The panic and mayhem as the boat goes down….. in 6 feet of water! “hahaha” 😀 😀

We do not need much water to drown in fact very little
      – even less than we need for swimming… 😉

Panic has never anything to do with how dangerous something is – panic is panic… 😉 😉

Yeah I’m an optimist and a pragmatist – a survivor, it’s said that “what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger” – I believe wholeheartedly in this… 🙂
