There she was

Strasbourg 89

Daily prompt “Roaring laughter
What was the last thing that gave you a real, authentic, tearful, hearty belly laugh..?

The pre-story is that last week I met with two business contacts
at a cozy cafe in Strasbourg.
we sit and talk about everything and nothing
going to talk about the ability to use your imagination.
On the way to the coffee shop I had taken three different street photos
I download them onto my laptop and ask them
about which songs these photos individually reminds them
because I know they both have very good musical abilities.

This photo is the first of the three.
the first starts to sing “Last train to Clarksville” (The Monkies 1966)
the other then afterwards looking at the photo and starts to laugh out loud
then he starts to sing so loud that the other cafe guests looking at him too:

There she was just a-walkin’ down the street
singin’ do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do
snappin’ her fingers and shufflin’ her feet
singin’ do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do

She looked good, looked good
she looked fine, looked fine
she looked good, she looked fine
and I nearly lost my mind
before I knew it she was walkin’ next to me

singin’ do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do
holdin’ my hand just as natural as can be
singin’ do-wah diddy-diddy down diddy-do

I’m hers, I’m hers
she’s mine, she’s mine.
(“Do Wah Diddy Diddy” an old Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich hit)

The girl on the photo was his girlfriend, I didn’t know.

Roaring laughter.
