Secluded works of art

The danish landscape constanly do change, in fact the weather too.

Despite this or perhaps because of this so many experiences are waiting out there.

Toerskind Gravel Pit is a former danish gravel pit converted to a sculpture park
located near the smaller town of Egtved which is close to the jutlandic city of Vejle.
The sculptures were created by the famous danish sculptor Robert Jacobsen (1912-93)
with help from his french trainee Jean Claereboudt over five years up to 1991.
The sculptures are made of steel, granite and timber, some of a weight of several tons.

Some believe that it spoils nature, others are very excited
but it is a fact that people need to know that it’s there – it’s not by accident we see it.
The surrounding nature defends the sculpture park.

My inspiration comes from wonderful “Restlessjo” and her “Monday walk” themes
this area is perfect for inspiring walking – maybe biking from the nearest town.

I think the idea is brilliant – people have to find these project first – if people don’t like it so don’t look for it… 😀

Your weekly walks are inspiring – a brilliant idea… 🙂
