Architecture is continually changing as time goes by
lack of maintenance creates two possibilities
restoration or abandonment.

  1. Wonderful 🙂 Drake, would you like to host a challenge on my blog? Please let me know. I still have openings in the second half of the year. You choose the theme.

  4. This is quite disturbing, Drake, but striking too. So much dilapidation, but still hanging on. Just. I love the way your composition suggests the passage of time, or stepping back in time. And that mysterious dark doorway at the end. V. creepy. I am making it feel better by thinking of Alice in Wonderland, going down the rabbit hole, though come to think of it, that was pretty weird too.

  5. Oh heck! Where is this poor soul, Drake? I feel the need to run along with a few props! 🙂
Really great shot! Have I seen this one somewhere before? It strikes a chord somehow.

Yes and no, I guess – I have earlier shown some similar but still different photos from the former Whittingham Hospital was a psychiatric hospital in the parish of Whittingham not far from Preston in Lancashire UK – probably at that time the biggest in Europe – in my eyes if one wasn’t sick when one arrived one would soon be sick… :-/

  6. Overskriften og billedet fik mig til at smile. Jeg gik forbi en lille kolonihave i går. En damecykel var ved at blive opslugt af græsset 🙂 Naturen tager over 🙂 🙂
