Our local environment our local surroundings may seem idyllic and be so serene
we must never be stuck in past sins especially those we haven’t created ourselves
but the historical past, also wounds caused by the cruel and brutal epochs need idyll.
This work nature creates better than anything else, no doubt
so back facing the reminder of how wrong things can go
if we don’t learn from the past, but commit the same mistake again.
Snow-dressed history in the forest of Vosges Mountains, not far from Lac Blanc
about 10,000 people lost their lives in this area during World War One.
With the inspiration from Ailsa and her absolutly worth visting blog
“Wheresmybackpack“
this is my version of the travel theme this week “Environment“.
Reblogged this on O LADO ESCURO DA LUA.
Where is it, this place? So beautiful, full of ghosts.

This forest is located in the french Vosges Mountains between Lorraine and Alsace – I guess this place is about 1000 meters above sea level… 🙂
So glad you enjoyed this white view… 🙂
Your caption is spot on.
