A question of balance

P 42

We’re always looking for answers, guess it’s the way of being human.
Sometimes we look for answers, which in fact is there between our own ears.
Sometimes we look in our close surroundings, and don’t see it because it too close.
Sometimes we look at far away destinations, and don’t see it because it’s too far away.
Sometimes we don’t even know what we’re looking for.

This day on a quiet canoe trip on a quiet watersteam in this dense vegetation
on the eastern lower side of the french Vosges mountains.
I didn’t know what I was looking for, but I found much I didn’t know I was looking for.

*A part of “The Balance” – The Moody Blues*

Just open your eyes,
And realize, the way it’s always been.
Just open your mind
And you will find
The way it’s always been.
Just open your heart
And that’s a start.

And he thought of those he angered,
For he was not a violent man,
And he thought of those he hurt
For he was not a cruel man
And he thought of those he frightened
For he was not an evil man,
And he understood.
He understood himself.

Upon this he saw that when he was of anger or knew hurt or felt fear,
It was because he was not understanding,
And he learned, compassion.

And with his eye of compassion.
He saw his enemies like unto himself,
And he learned love.
Then, he was answered.

Just open your eyes,
And realize, the way it’s always been.
Just open your mind
And you will find
The way it’s always been.
Just open your heart
And that’s a start.

  2. This is a wonderful input, dear Drake.
You can count yourself lucky to walk with open eyes, open mind and open spirit. You will see what other don’t see and you’ll get answers to not asked questions.
Have a great week, best wishes,
    Ulli
