Even when we don’t have “eye contact” with the river Rhine so its presence is sensed.
Starting in the southeastern part of the swiss Alps.
The river forms the border between Switzerland and Austria, then later
between Switzerland and Liechtenstein and so again between Switzerland and Austria.
Then it flows into Lake Constance, where it forms the swiss-german border.
North of Basel the Rhine forms the border between France and Germany,
until southwest of Karlsruhe where the Rhine flows through the german Ruhr district.
East of Nijmegen the Rhine runs on into Holland,
and finally running out at the dutch North Sea coast.
The inspiration comes from wonderful “Restlessjo” and her “Monday walk” themes.
Rhinfall in the swiss part, where the river shows its ‘teeth’.
