Falling water

The famous Rheinfall in swiss Schaffhausen.

Walk all inspired from wonderful “Restlessjo” and her “Monday walk” themes.

The falls are 150 metres (490 ft) wide and 23 metres (75 ft) high.
In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m3/s (8,800 cu ft/s),
while in the summer, the average water flow is 600 m3/s (21,000 cu ft/s).
The falls can not be climbed by fish, except by eels,
that are able to worm their way up over the rocks.

  1. I now know these Falls very well since my son has been living in Kanton Schaffhausen for the past years through visits. They are quite spectacular and the fish life is also interesting that floats near the falls . It is a wondeful view from the train of the falls when approaching Schaffhausen station.

  2. I have seen 2 mesmerizing falls in my life. Brandywine Falls in British Columbia & Niagara Falls, Ontario. Both are fab, but I must say that Niagara Falls is SPECTACULAR. They call it the 8th wonder of the world. I wish everyone could visit Niagara Falls! OMG! If you get to see Niagara Falls frozen in the winter, you will be a changed person!
