With a little luck

Certainly inspired by the Cole Porter song “Kiss Me, Kate.”
Fortunately my name is not Kate. !!!!!

The Cotentin Peninsula, south southernwest of the Normandy.
The coastline, to the west lie the Channel Islands.
Plage d’Agon-Coutainville – maybe a kind of wind shielding against west.?

Back to the Normandy

Once just a small harbour, drying out at low tide,
the first pier at Diélette was bult in 1731 by the Marquis de Flamanville.
A few decades later, the port shipped the highest tonnage in the Manche département
all thanks to the famous granite quarries in the region.
The stone, highly demanded by manufacturers,
was used in 1837 to pave the Place de la Concorde in Paris.

As usual inspired by “Restlessjo” and her “Monday walk” themes.

A gateway to / from the channel island of Alderney too.
