The color yellow is a special characteristic sign of the city of Skagen.
Located in the northernmost part of the danish region of Jutland.
With the waters of Kattegat, Skagerak and the North Sea on three sides.
Far to the west is Scotland situated
Slightly closer to the east Sweden and to the north Norway.
For centuries it has been a goal especially for painters
– the light is very special in the area of Skagen.
Inspired by this week theme “Yellow” in the “Friendly Friday”.
“Something to ponder about“
Love that first image, Drake!
The white roof paints are one characteristic sign more. There live about 8000 people in this city – they have 1400000 tourists overnights in the city yearly, added about 10-15 cruise liners visiting with maybe 2-3000 per ship – buzy place. 🙂
Well, it won’t be quite so busy now….
No doubt, you are right.
Indeed
I so enjoyed your little tour of Skagen. Thanks Drake! I wonder where you got the idea of posting yellow houses from?😉
I posted very quickly so you visited the show in the minutes before I discovered it – and told where the inspiration came from. 😀
🙂
i love the colors!
Fascinating city imho. 🙂
Yellow is my favourite colour! Beautiful town!
Definitely, you would enjoy a walk through the city. 🙂
All their need is the “yellow brick road”. 😉
You’re right. 😀
