Delicious fresh beach food in the late spring and early summer.
Sea kale (english) meerkohl (german) chou marin (french)
Actually a vegetable, related to the cabbage
– that grows wild along the coasts of Europe.
The fresh shoots taste like and served like asparagus:
steamed, with either béchamel sauce or melted butter, salt and pepper.
I’ve never heard of this but if it tastes like asparagus, I’m all for it!!
They really do, but have to fresh – late spring or early summer, is the right time. 🙂
