That’s what friends are for

My old mum live alone in the old farmhouse, since my old dad past away 3½ year ago.
She have a friend who visit her every morning and late afternoon.
Picks on the window with his beak, calling for food.
His was already started when my dad was alive.
Again and again my dad was awakened from his midday nap in the armchair.
By the “damned” pheasant knocking on the patio door for attention.
A bird that has an “arrogant attitude” meant in the positive way.
The bird may be at least six or seven years old.

  1. We had a visiting pheasant in the South of England. We called him Philip, and when the police asked (after we were burgled) if anyone might have seen anything—we pointed directly at Philip.
