Empty fire station

Type “XXX” on the phone and then help knocking on the “door”,
it is something new-fashioned something – reserved for recent generations.
In the past, it was “help for self-help” also called “do it yourself”.
Many villages had a tiny communal house in the middle of the village.
There was a man-drawn small manually operated fire extinguisher.
In case of a fire, it must first be fetched and water must also be provided.
Not to mention helping crew – but the villagers helped each other.
It could be at home at own place next time.
Nowadays, the vast majority of these fire extinguishers are
not gone up in smoke but gone to in rust and wood beetles.
But many of the small houses are still visible.
