Maybe because as born on a very tiny island, I know how weird or original (said with a huge grin) we islanders can be – no matter where in the world it happened. 😀
Not least mediterranean islands such as Corsica, Sardinia, Malta, Cyprus, Mallorca or all the greek ones – have laid their back on lots of history. Because they were all strategically important to many, not all guests were polite visitors. The tourists of today, however much they are out of pedagogical reach – they are a piece of cake in comparison. 🙂
