At this time farmers, mostly those who have dairy cattle, are preparing for winter.
From around april to october dairy cattle mostly graze in the field.
For winter use, for example, grass silage is used as a kind of pickled grass.
Corresponds largely to sauerkraut, which at least germans know well.
The cattle think it tastes wonderful – the raw material can be:
wild meadow plants, clover grass, green harvested grain (eg oats), beet tops or corn.
