Between ruins and rivers

N 46

Bike ride Rheinland Pfalz in the area between Wiesbaden and Koblenz.

Inspiring experience in the large wooded area with the river Rhine near at the east.
Lots of tiny streams crossed, they are all on their way to the main river.

My inspiration comes from wonderful “Restlessjo” and her “Monday walk” themes.
A walk or more correct a bike ride last week.

Some of the caves are being used for storing cheese.
This should make them even more delicious.
Unfortunately, we did not know which of the caves.
Otherwise we had taken with a good bottle of red wine.

N 48

An old abandoned bridge, don’t know how safe it was.

Schloss Burg Rheinstein
Le château de Rheinstein
Rheinstein Castle

Fortifications at the cliffs of the river Rhine
Built in the middle of the 1300s – now attraction and still relatively well preserved

Seen from the higher altituded hillside.

N 50

Schloss Burg Stahlberg
Le château de Stahlberg
The castle of Stahlberg

Earlier fortifications at the cliffs of  the river Rhine
Built in the late 1100s – now attraction ruin

Seen from the higher altituded hillside.

N 51

The Lorelei rock seen from the opposite side of the river Rhine.

This rock isn’t the dangerous one, it are those out in the river.
