Fishing vessels are required to work and work very very hard all day long
it’s seen when they are pulled up on the slipway for the annual make-up
the sea is a brutal workplace and up on the slipway
the wounds on the metal hull can’t be hidden
so even relatively new ships look old and very very used.
A few places in the very northern Jutland (in Denmark)
both the coast to the west and to the east
fishing boats sail out from the shore – not from a port but directly from the beach
these fishing boats, which are built of wood, are pushed into the sea and pulled ashore
age-old traditions are passed on from generation to generation.
Strangely, these fishing boats looks much more well-maintained
than many of the fishing boats that seen in the fishing ports.
