The word ‘close’ is an ‘odd’ word.
It can mean both a kind of ‘openness’ and the opposite ‘closedness’ too.
Windows could have been closed for so long that they are broken when opened.
Both spoken literally and figuratively.
A damn good argument to sense the surroundings not only through the windows.
But by ‘jump out’ of the window and see the world.
