
Nowhere on the island of Samsø is there more than 3½ km to the coast.
Cruise ships sail close to shore but never visit.
On the island, the farmers are busy with the harvest.
There are many benches around the island if one has time to enjoy.

Speaking of grain, then there are two functioning mills,
none of them are used for anything other than exhibition for tourists.
One hundred years ago, there were at least fifteen active mills.
Many have been demolished over time.
Two have been converted into private residences.
One was sold to a film company in the 1920s for a very good price,
they had to record a mill fire, then it was gone.
The lower brick foundation has now been converted into a small lookout tower.

What a shame that they put the windmill on fire, just to make a film !
There was nor no full agreement on the decision in the village – still after almost a century, someone asking why was it sold for that reason.
