We can’t fly or what

If you were born without wings, do nothing to prevent them from growing
(Coco Chanel – french fashion designer)

The heart of standing – in believing that you can’t fly
(William Empson – english literary critic and poet)

Often so we need no enemies, we’ll handle it ourself.
Into the distance, a ribbon of black
Stretched to the point of no turning back
Flight of fancy on a windswept field
Standing alone, my senses reel
Fatal attraction that’s holding me fast
Now, can’t escape this irresistible grasp
Can’t keep my eyes from the circling sky
Tongue-tied and twisted; just an earth-bound misfit, I
Ice is forming on the tips of my wings
A part of the Pink Floyd song “Learning to fly”
(songwriters Jeff Lynne and Tom Pretty)

I believe that because of much of my work is getting my clients to plan their work optimally and structurally – if I couldn’t plan my own time – so it was probably not so good… 🙂 😉

  1. Great post.
Recently I found a cute picture on facebook, it was a to do list and said: 1. grow wings 2. fly away
Tom Petty did an excellent version of Learning to fly, but I could never find fault with Pink Floyd either!
