Making our mind up

044

Last winter, a danish forest, not far from Aarhus.

Daily Prompt: “Simply the Best
When and where do you do your best thinking..?

An amazing place for inspiring thoughts
it’s under the ‘silent’ and ‘listening’ trees in a forest.

Last autumn,  a german forest not far from Flensburg.

Last summer,  a belgian forest not far from the french border.

When a man in a forest thinks he is going forward in a straight line
in reality he is going in a circle
I did my best to go in a circle, hoping to go in a straight line

  3. Wonderful photos and interesting post! To be alone is often essential to have inspiring thoughts, in contact with nature is easier: in a forest, yes, but even on a top of a mountain, or in front of the sea… for me is better to be still, and even stay alone on my bed in summer while I’m listening to the concert of cicadas… 😉

Thanks, so glad you like it… 🙂

Agree with you, so many placees can be inspiring and yeah even alone in our beds we sometimes “be hit by inspiration” – 🙂

  6. Beautiful collection, Drake – I kept returning to the colours of the fall and your question about when and where… I believe out in nature – in one way or another. Walks on the beach or being up in the mountains were my favourite “spots” in summer. Must mention also being on the road…driving when my mind comes up with quite surprising things. 🙂

Thanks a lot, glad you like it… 🙂

Agree with you, so many places can be inspiring – if we are ready for inspiration – I believe the only thing we need is to “drown in imaginary isolation” – which can also be lots of inspiration on a bench at a crowded pedestrian street – plus all the other places you mention… 🙂

  8. You always seem to post the most amazing pictures. I so enjoy looking at the ones of the Danish/German forests. I like that each one seem to also represent a season. Winter, autumn, spring/summer. I think they all would be wonderful places to do thinking. I don’t really have a favourite, but it has to be quiet and peaceful, and most places in nature, allow us time away from the frenetic pace of the city, for our mind to settle and think more deeply. Thanks for a great post.

Thanks a lot, so glad you like it – really appreciate your words… 🙂

I found forest very inspiring and use them often for breaks in my work – a forest is a perfect place for inspiration – here the first one was last winter in the danish city of Aarhus very close just south is the Marselisborg Forest located – wonderful place… 🙂

The 2nd one from last autumn – we find this forest under two miles eastern of Flensburg located in Glucksburg – an amazing place with views of the Flensburg Fjord to the north… 🙂

The 3th one in the Ardennes near the belgian town of Sedan, this idyllic place is located not far from the french border… 🙂

  9. Beautiful post, both photos and words! “…I did my best to go in a circle, hoping to go in a straight line” great quote! Thank you for sharing your wisdom!
